I guess all of you have seen the books by Tom Cotter, The Cobra in the barn, Harley in the barn, etc.
I am reading the bike ones currently and thought it might be fun to tell about similar finds of our favourite bits of old iron.
Like the Cotter books the item doesn't have to be a Harley he even had Dukes and Yamahas.

To start the ball rolling I was at a farmer mates small property between Gunnadah and Tamworth for an Easter gathering in the 1990s.
Whilst using the outside loo I was reading an old local paper and spied an ad for a Wadkin table saw with address in Tamworth.
The paper was about a month old but I drove in and knocked on the door.
A lady answered and yes the saw was still available, it was in the shed next door.
I went and inspected it, a Wadkin Bursgreen 12" AGS.
Turns out her husband a cabinetmaker had gone off to the US with a country and western singer he had met at the previous Golden Guitar event in Tamworth.
She was understandably pretty off and was selling off all his gear.
I bought it for a good price and a couple of locals helped me load it upside down into the rear of the little Light Ace van I was in.
I tied it to the tow bar so it wouldn't come forward under heavy braking and loaded our soft luggage into the body of it.
My wife was a bit nonplussed but the kids still fitted in the rear seat and we got home to Sydney after the do was finished no worries.
As I had a PK in the shop at the time I sold it on.
