Just rescued a ute load of Mulberry from a fire stack.393550393549393548 Got tired of cutting blanks so turned a quick bowl.

Mulberry goes from a bright yellow to a lovely rich chestnut colour over a year or so of exposure to air ? light ?

Thanks mate :) The biggest piece about 400mm and lots of 300mm dia.

No finish and too wet (green) to sand. just for fun.

lots of shrinkage in the sap so it will jump around as it dries. Phil

This is one I turned about 12 or 14yrs ago, finish from memory was Danish Oil.

One of my friends has it and it's used by the front door to keep keys and knick knacks in, asked her to send some pics and this is what it looks like today. Think I might have to grab it off her and give it a clean and polish.

Yes, a clean and wax. Good to see the bark hanging on. Phil.

I have only managed to find small diameter bits so have not done a bowl. I have to say it turns very well and makes great tool handles.
At the moment I have my eye on a small tree in the empty block behind my place as my stash is almost gone.

I have not used Mulberry so find it interesting to hear what people have said.
Looks like a very nice bowl.
