I will be in Launceston and Hobart this week and was wondering what furniture/woodworking galleries/shops I should be checking out?

MM, in Hobart go down to Salamnca Place plenty to see there, a short drive out to Richmond is well worth the petrol. In Launceston there is a furniture design/gallery next to a Park, sorry can't remember the name, found a brochure somewhere, a short drive to Windermere and you will find an old fellow there with some interesting work.
Cheers

What Baz said. Also, have a look in the museum in Hobart. Despard Gallery in Salamanca Place is good, and there are a few other good ones there too.

Also, check out Tamar House in Legana (near Launceston). Its a wood turning centre. Well worth the visit. Enjoy your trip.

If you have the time to drive down to Geeveston south of Hobart it would be worth it. They have a fantastic gallery and wood centre. The drive is about 50-60 minutes through the Huon Valley.

Boags Brewery tour in Lonnie, and Cascade's too, on the slopes of Mt Wellington. The bars are made from wood. ;)
