We got some new toys a couple of weeks ago (Stanley FatMax tape for scale):
398292398294398295

I'll be setting the second one on the top to run tomorrow. At 87mm across it just fits in the auto tool changer. It's rated to 13k rpm so I'll be running it at 12k just to be safe. Can't wait to get the big one going...

Oh I know that. The 3 big ones are Leuco and it'd be 4 figures for just one of them

Our CNC guy had a collection from old machines and just wanted them gone

Will the spindle slow enough to drive the large one within it's speed rating and still produce enough torque for it to work, or would you need to take a lot finer cut? If the second largest is rated 13K, I figure the big daddy would be around 2/3rd that so about 9K rated 8K working. Suppose its not an issue till you need to use it though.

Yep, it is rated to 9k. I don't think it'll be an issue, we always run profile bits in at least 2 passes for the best finish, one that size would probably be in 3 passes.
The manual has power curve diagrams, but there are several variants of this spindle so I'll have to find out exactly which one it is

And another new one: 75x20mm finish spiral from Leuco (unfortunately we had to pay for this one)

403049

It's rated to 30k rpm :oo:, but the spindle tops out at 18k so that's where it's staying

Bet that cost a pretty penny.

What are you using a 20mm bit for?

About $500
We need the length for table legs and thick tops and 20mm is the only size that comes that long, we have a 55x16 as well for more normal-sized jobs
