Hi All,
Bit of fun here.
Watching Eddie's Show, Hot Seat, Last Question for $ 20,000. Lady Contestant.
What is a " Spurtle ", Musical Instrument, Kitchen Item, & 2 Others.
She had no idea, but have you ???.
I Turn a fair amount of these. It of course is a K/Item, & it is for stirring Porridge, Jams, Soups, & so on.
Scottish one has Thistle on top, English one an Acorn, Aussie one has a Gumnut.
The trick is, not to make them too long as the tend to float & fall out of the pot if you happen to leave them in.
We have one made out of Dead Finish, which of course does not float.
I have made 3 for our Kitchen, & most get used in one days cooking.
1 is 8"- 205mm. 1 at 8½"- 215mm. & 1 at 11"- 280mm. for the bigger pot.
Google " Wooden Spurtles ".
