This is my latest painting and depicts my first German Shepherd "Drum" when he was a puppy.
A much different approach than my usual paintings.
My intention was to have the background melt into the fur in parts with only Drum's face in focus.
I have done little to depict hair, preferring to leave it to the imagination.
I think the warmly lit side of the painting contrasts with the cooler, shady side quite well.
Rembrandt pastels on Colourfix paper 440cm x 580cm.
