Ok ,Sally and I have decided to have a Saturday GTG in sunny(hopefully Ballarat)
On 18 of March.
Doors will creep open around 11 ish ,and we will provide a bbq lunch and drinks(bring your own grog tho) around 1 ish.
(If you have food considerations let us know)
BYO chair sitting thing.
(One consideration ,we may cancel at the last minute ,ie a couple of days before hand if the weather turns bad.
We only have a small palace and entertaining inside is not really an option.

My shed is 2/3rds of a 12 metre shipping container lol.)

All welcome ,partners and children.
We are on acreage, so kids can play in the old gold mines a few on the land or hunt deadly snakes or run after the numerous drop bears.

Very laid back affair ,just a bbq and talking poo and telling everyone how great your woodworking skills are.

We're approximately an hour and half from Melbourne CBD

I've been told we are nice people!!!!

Cheers Matt

Since it is just up the road, there is little chance I can get lost along the way. Assuming the mean old boss man doesn't politely beg me to work Satdy morning, I can be there.

And out of curiosity, Matt do you manually add the Tags for this thread? When people search for "poo" this thread will come up :D

Taking these three points separately:

1. That's odd: Most palaces around this way are huge!
2. How many hours from Millmerran CBD and can I avoid Melbourne!
3. Definitely nice people.

All the best for the GTG. Regrettably I can't get there. One day though.

Ice nowadays has a lot to answer for, but my reference i hope would not arouse any ire.

"The Iceman Cometh" was a play by the American, Eugene O'Neil, first performed in 1947 (I had to look that bit up). It transpires that the character they are waiting for, the iceman, confesses on his arrival to murdering his wife. I had hoped that all this was nothing to do with being one woman down.:D

I did a TAFE journey man's panel beating course years ago and the first job was to turn a flat bit of sheet into a hub cap or something that looked like one. A BIG ball pein hammer, one sheet of steel and a hardwood block with a top concave surface were the main tools used. It even looked like a hub cap when I was finished which surprised the hell out of me. Some of the spectators look a bit suss by the way.

And then if you were an apprentice,
You would have to turn your new hub cap back to flat.
That's the fun bit not[emoji15]

Sally & Matt,
Thanks for a good day. Good company, good food and great weather - what else could be necessary. Champagne for the ladies was a nice touch:2tsup::2tsup:

Bob & Maureen

Bob Maureen,
Thank you for coming up, thanks for getting lost
Sally's fault.
Glad the champagne got drunk.
Heavens knows what we would have done with a few bottles of cheap champagne floating around.

Cheers Matt

Thanks Matt and Sally for hosting a great day and providing a great lunch. Thanks to the other attendees for their company.

Kuffy was worried for some reason, that the aliens were trying to read his brainwaves so Matt made him a heavy duty "foily" out of a piece of sheet aluminium. Here is the start:

And here is Kuffy modeling the end product. Once he put the foily on the aliens left and now all he has to contend with is the "Care Bears".408719

We really enjoyed the day

Cheers

Doug

If you look closely at doug's 2nd photo. You can clearly see the light beam shooting straight at my head that the aliens are using to read my brainwaves. So I reckon the energy expended on worry was a good expense :D

Looks like we won't have aliens visiting for quite awhile then again.☹️☹️

Yes, Kuffy the light beam is there but so is the "Care Bear" heart. Inquiring minds still want to know what business the Care Bears have with you, Kuffy...

I think the care bears want to teach me to play nice with other people. Or perhaps they plan to wrap me up in cotton wool to protect me from myself.

What type of tarts? :?

I could probably help with some mulberries following a bumper crop this year, but anything else and Kuffy would have to make his own arrangements  .

Dave

In the past we have had that problem, but not this year. I had to eat extra ice cream just to build up our stock of containers. The things we do..............
