Heading off to Wingan Inlet next week for a bit of fishing and walking, been there a couple of times before and the area never fails to satisfy. Only 23 camp sites, sometimes a 4wd is needed for access and it's part of the croajingalong national park not far from Orbost and Mallacoota so it covers a bit of ground. One of the nice things about the camp ground is that you get anything from Wonga Pigeons to Goannas wandering through.
I'll let you know if I catch anything.

one of my favourite spots good size flatties and bream plus Tailer used to slide down the big dune at point hicks with the drop into the river as a reward for the climb. been a few years hope it hasn't changed too much.

Haven't been to the big dunes yet, think I'll pop in for a sticky beak this time.

Rowed up wingan river to the rocks/cascades then floated downstream and fished the stream using a silver wobbler until the braid gave up the ghost, swapped over to a golden wobbler lost that to the deeps of wingan as well. But they were deadly while they lasted, caught a good sized tailor and a nice silver trevally. Threw a few small tailor back for you folk to catch at a later date, a big monster got away (of course)tailor I think. Cooked Cath up a good feed of mussels (butter and white wine).
Loved the company of lace monitors, wonga pigeons, lyrebirds, yellow robins, scrub wrens, blue wrens, bats, parrots, red bellied black snakes, tiger snakes, something resembling a water dragon etc. all wandering through the campground or on the various walking tracks.
