FenceFurniture 4th March 2017, 05:47 PM Can't remember what they're called, but used for taking internal dimensions I believe (hence what looks like a spring load).
AlexS 4th March 2017, 06:18 PM As FF said, it's for gauging internal dimensions. I'd call it a diagonal gauge, as it's used for making sure that the diagonals of a box are equal. The idea of the points is to get into the corners.

orraloon 5th March 2017, 10:07 AM I suspected it was to check internal measurements but have never seen one like that. It could be a nasty accident waiting to happen if you let go the spring loaded end without due care.
