In need of 2 new rods, so I was scouting about the net, when I stumbled across this S.A seller.

I like buying gear from different unknown manufacturers (by Aussie standards) apart from the main stream, as long as its good quality.

Most of these rods have high spec componenets ie Toray Carbon blanks, IM 6, IM 7, IM 12 blanks (never heard of IM12) and Fuji guides and seats etc.

They sell European rods, I have heard of DAM, but the others no Idea, I did a quick google but there is so much B.S out there, who do you believe?

Does anyone know of the other brands, made in Germany, France and I think Spain ie BALZER, COLMIC, BARBETTA, SAKURA, SPORTEX, HERAKLES, CARSON etc

Our European/English members may be able to help?

One rod needs to be for surf fishing but have a light enough tip for King George Whiting but big enough if a 5kg snapper or gummy (gummies run out of puff quickly) comes across my bait, not worried if its a Telescopic (easier to walk with)

The other will be for boat fishing anything from 100kg sharks to large kingies or mulloway not interested in Blue fin Tuna (not that nice to eat unless smoked)

Here is the site - High quality Australian premium fishing and terminal tackle (http://adoretackle.com/products/?sort=pricedesc&page=1)

Surf rod budget starts at Page 4>, boat rod page 3>.

The main thing with the surf rod is it can cast up to a 4oz sinker and be long/high enough to keep my line above the onshore breakers ie the breaking waves don't keep catching my line, but the tip sensitive enough to detect those finicky whiting.

Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with Ugly sticks,(good value) shimano T curves or Diawa black generation rods but like I said i want to try something new and different, these rods seem well priced. Compared to what we are use to.

Got this rod for surf fishing, haven't caught anything on it yet!, tried last night off one of the local beaches, no wind incoming tide, bloke beside me caught 2 nice KGW in 1 hour, worst thing was he said "He usually fishes where I was".

COLMIC ADRIATICA High End Rod 3.80m (30-200gr) - Adore Tackle (http://adoretackle.com/colmic-adriatica-high-end-rod-3-80m-30-200gr/)

They had 15% off so I saved a bit, it has 4 different tips from LL to HH, its extremely light, which will be handy walking "discovery bay" (https://www.google.com.au/maps/place/Discovery+Bay+Coastal+Park,+Victoria/@-38.2390029,141.1347009,11z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0xaa9e09536da2c9b5:0xa87e4db553dcf1f6!8m2!3d-38.2059591!4d141.2891625) lots of deep gutters etc.

Only criticism I reckon for the price the guides should have under-binding, as most good rods have, something I over looked when buying.

Haven't picked a boat rod yet but Compleat angler have a Fin-nor Biscayne rod and O/Head reel combo for $150, seems ok 15-24kg.

Cheers Christos, I did manage to catch a Pinkie on the new rod, there were 10 (all family members) of us fishing on this little bit of beach so we had a ball, one bloke (never caught a fish in his life) landed a 2kg salmon on fresh Gar so he was rapt.

I was trying to net some more gars in the dark and bumped one blokes (another one that hadn't been fishing) line so you can imagine what happened, I ended up tangled up because he reefed the rod and started winding like a man possessed, :? hooks went straight into my waders, surprising how much water leaks in from a pin prick! :(( I had to ask for help as there was a medium swell running causing me some grief - dumping breakers.

They all thought it was a hell of a joke:hpydans:

We had a great time and that's what fishing is about - CHILL time:U
