Been playing again.
As the title I had a smashing time doing this one.
As of yet this bowl has not got a name. This was just experimenting with the rim. I kept the main bowl and underside simple as I wanted the rim to speak for this one.
Wood is unknown but I believe it is maple if you know different then please let me know(I don't get maple usually).

It measures 13 1/2" X 2 1/2" and the decoration was done using acrylic paints

Any chance of letting us know the process of painting? I was fortunate enough to see Nick Agar do some arty stuff to a bowl/platter he was too quick and I don't fully remember what he did.
Your effort looks really good!!!

Well done Dalboy, I really like this and you have the ultimate endorsement, the wife was looking over my shoulder and she commented she loves it. You need to put a mark on the wall for that one:D

Cheers, Ian

An interesting technique. I like the way you have decorated the rim of the bowl.

The rim is very defined and almost separate to the inner bowl. I am just thinking out loud so if you do not like this ignore it, when you do the next one would you consider having the colour less defined with the bowl edge?

Thank you Christos. It is great to hear others thoughts as it sees the work from a different point of view. This was just experimenting and I have other ideas to play with but not just yet as I am building a wooden half track now but may take a break to do something later on.
