I have been told, :) and dont believe all that I here but there is a foam product out there bit like a jigsaw puzzle except you can pull out pieces where you want a camera or a lens or something else to fit.

If thats not clear....:D imagine a box of foam all small little vertical tubes (sot of) and you can pull out pieces to design your own shape...to fit whatever you want into the case.

Am I on the right track or is someone having a lend of me. If its true where do I go looking to buy.............

Kaizen foam. Let me find a place that sells it.

Ive seen this stuff in action and its very amazing.

The stuff is amazing but pricey for what it is.

Also I find its better to buy a case with the foam already fitted rather than buying the foam to retrofit a case, the benefits is some cases use two different foam densities one lining the inside of the case the other allowing you to "pick and pluck".

Eg Pelican cases.

If you're after a low budget case jaycar and Bunnings also sell a small variety of them.

Thanks guys, dont need for a camera case....another project but it was the principal of shaping foam without looking crappy and home made.

If you want a custom fit, you could wrap the item in plastic (well), make a half-tray and spray Polyfilla Expanding Foam into the shape and make a negative.

That foam expands like crazy, I've used it on the studio to close some gaps and its wild.
