Where can you get stick-on 2-3mm plastic strips for aiming lines in a croquet mallet?

No Al, it's a little known fact that Croquet was in fact invented by the Pirates of the Caribbean. Originally they used to store all their cannon balls in one locker on the ship, and they used to hit them with mallets to send them flying down to the cannons which were in permanent battlements.

Occasionally, if a seaman was not quick enough, the ball would run over his foot, and flick up and hit him in the groin region, causing him to shout out something that sounded like "Teuqorc.......!!!!" Which was Pirate talk for "Ouch!".

By some coincidence, the game was adapted to dry land, which many felt was a backward step, and so it was that the cry "Teuqorc.......!!!!" was spelled backwards and became the name of the game, so that from that day on everyone would remember the origin of the game.

Arrrrhhhhrrrr. You had obviously forgotten!!!
