Spokeshave on Quartersawn Laminated Guitar Neck????

Hi Everyone, Im a newbee on this forum and was really hoping someone might help.

I have a mahogany and Maple 7 laminate piece of timber which I want to use to make a guitar neck but Im unsure whether a convex spokeshave will work against a laminated quarter-saw piece of timber. The reason is I dont want to invest in a Convex Spokeshave if its a no go. :?

A curved sole shave is worth having if you will be doing a few instruments. A rasp and sanding will get you by but will be more and messier work. With spokeshaves you really need both a flat and a curved sole to cover inside and outside curves.
