This weekend I'm demonstrating with Murray Woodturners Club at the Finley show.

I have hope to spend some time work in an adaption of this leg pictured below. Picture was supplied to me and not particularly clear.

Once design is fine tuned there will be a set for a coffee table and a set for a dining table.

If you're in the area look out for my kids too. They may have a go on the lathe

Dave, good luck with the demo, I always find the simpler things attract the most attention.

As with doing the table legs from those photo's, ask for dimensions!!!!!

On the other note. Will likely do some spinning tops too.

Good luck Dave,
Turn some Camphor laurel, sandalwood or any timber that is scented, that will bring them in.

I want some sandalwood. Where do I get it.

I was just turning old recycled Oregon. Hardly any nails. My roughing gouge only found one.

Malcolm, middle lathe, turned some camphor. That smelt good

I also did my first public demo a couple of weeks ago and also had a great day. Once you start turning nerves just go out of the window even when people start to ask questions and normally that is when you are concentrating on that little delicate bit:U.

Looks like a good set up but a lathe that big for a demo must have been fun setting it up

A few hands made it easier. Loaded by myself. Will unload by myself. But on and off at the show had help.

I wondered about such a big lathe at the show but I think it worked well. We had a good variety of things we were turning

Another surprise was how I was able to engage with people while turning. Was not sure how I would go there.
