Making rips square

Hello all,

I'm very new to woodworking so this may be a very simple question. I have a series 2000 work table and the router table and would like to know if there is a simple and accurate way to get both sides of the timber parallel if the timber started off with a bow in it?

My dilemma is that when I run the timber along the guide fences of both the router and workbench I am replicating the bend that is against the fence.

Any advise is greatly appreciated

Gooday.

Attach a known straight piece of timber to one edge andf run this along the fence. Cut the opposite side.

Remove the straight edge and flip the timber to rip the one that had the straight edge attached. Voila!!!!! 2 parallel edges.

I have used aluminium angle as a straight edge Attached by screws or double sided tape on the odd occasion.
