Lathe Chatter

I thought this video may be of interest to some members in regard lathe chatter. It deals with HAAS CNC lathes, but covers some of the principles as to why chatter occurs and what you may be able to do about it. This is where I find having a VFD with continuously variable speed on the lathe is very useful. A lot of the video deals with G-codes etc, but there's still some good information in there in regard nose radius/cutting pressure/rigidity and chuck grip force at high rpm.
