This has received a fair bit of interest from the general public since I made it.
Nuts all from my 5 acre bush block.
I sliced up 27 of them to make this. 426566426565
360mm Diameter & 12mm thick, with 80mm foot.
For those of you are not familiar with Banksia Nuts, especially from USA, this is how they grow.426567

Not being a S A but that is the first time I have seen them growing on steel rods instead of on Banksia trees. :D:o

For those of you are not familiar with Banksia Nuts, especially from USA, this is how they grow.

I couldn't believe what you were trying to convince us ( those of us up yonder) of, so I looked it up. Hmmmm, Col, are you trying to fool us? I always thought they grew at Woodcraft stores. That's the only place I've ever seen them......... . Jerry (in Tucson) USA

Yes, just trying to have a bit of fun with the Banksia tree I saw at my mates house.
Pieces glued together with Tightbond 2 & filled with resin.
This was my first go at using resin as a filler. Not happy with too many air bubbles .
One competition this year is anything from a Banksia nut. Will be interesting to see what turns up on the table.
