Upgrading to the 2000

After a year of mucking about with a Triton Compact Saw Table fitted with a Makita 9 1/4" Saw, I am seriously considering upgrading to a Series 2000 Workcentre and getting the Router plate and table. There are a ton of accessories but I am curious as to whether Triton users think they are that necessary/useful/value for money. Specifically:
Does the dust collector work as well as advertised?
Is the biscuit jointer as accurate as claimed?
Is the blade height wider useful?

I'm only looking at some fairly basic projects, no serious cabinetmaking!!

The dust collection is very good. The winder kit is virtually essential if you have dust collection as it means that you don't have to muck about through the bag. Even without the bag the winder makes adjusting the blade height a cinch

As Burf said, plus the biscuit joiner works even better that I expected. the next thing I will be looking for is the sliding extension table.

Dion, couldn't agree with the others more.

The basic Workcentre 2000 works very well, but with the available attachments, i.e. dust collection, height winder, extension table, its a great piece of equipment.

If you have the room, I would recommend the router table stand for your router table. Also, the biscuit jointer, and box jointer are great tools at a cost-effective price.

However, in my opinion, the two tools essential to make the Triton equipment top quality are the Triton circular saw and the Triton Router.

If one sets the equipment up carefully and accurately, the Triton system of products is capable of all most would ask of it. As I stated before in this forum, it’s a poor woodworker that blames his equipment for unsatisfactory results.

I have a Compact saw table and The router table And I have allied both to Triton tools. I originally had other tools in the tables and the results were not up to what I expected......Since putting the triton tools in I am more than happy with the outcome.....The biscuit joiner, mini extension table and the finger joiner are in constant use around here....My theory is that if you have the right tools the job will be the better for it..... http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/cool.gif
