View Full Version : Grinding MICRO trocar tips on rods

Maybe someone can help or has an idea.
I need to grind trocar tips (three sided pyramidal shaped tips) on multiple rods down to 0.5mm in diameter. (As in the picture below)
It is imperative that the grind is concentric to the rod, does not grind off too much material (thus control the approach to the grind) and sharp too.

I have thought through the process for days now and have worked out how to hold the work piece with a ER25 exagonal collet block, but not yet how to grind the tip with perfect, concentric edges.
I do not want to invest in expensive CNC machinery to do this. Perhaps there is a way to do this with a grinder such as Foredom bench lathe with diamond disc?

Please help if you have any ideas, tips to gear that may assist.

Cheers
Girius
