This morning I bought a 6 metre length of orange PVC pipe for $30 by responding to this Gumtree advert (https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-view-details.html?adId=1175255603). Perfect for dust collection piping. Pick up was near Mascot airport
NOTE - I am not the seller and I don't have any connection with him, just a customer who thought other Forumites in Sydney might want to know.

Just so you are aware, that is electrical conduit and is a totally different size to pipe. Standard pipe fittings will not fit. It is also underground conduit and is not UV stabilized.
Still, really cheap for conduit.

don't know that you are correct NCA - I took WDV fittings with me when I picked the conduit up to make sure they fitted.

As the photos below show, they fitted the conduit perfectly.

I can't say that all 150mm WDV fittings will fit or that 150mm dust collector fittings will fit, but these do.

BTW just so you know, the ID is 150mm and the OD is 159mm (i.e. wall thickness is 4.5mm)

Good to know, thanks Jeremy. I had to look up WDV. Must be the same wall thickness as conduit.

Even if it is not UV stabilised, if it used inside a shed it should be OK.

159 mm OD means it is slightly smaller than DWV and Stormwater which is nominally 160.25 mm OD.
150 mm electrical conduit is nominally 160.3mm OD with a 6.7 or 8.5 mm wall thickness

Bob or anyone else,
Are the thermal characteristics of electrical conduit the same as for WDV?
I'm thinking of making bell mouths for myself (unless Bob is prepared to do a short run of 2 for me), and I was wondering if I should try the conduit or just buy a metre of WDV.

Should be the same.

BTW I'm still making BMHs in small batches about every month. PM me if interested.

Thanks, Bob. I'll see how time and money are going and be in touch, if needed.
