For a number of reasons I haven't done a lot of turning of late. One reason was that I have just finished insulating the shed and have finally got it back into some semblance of "order", by my standard any way. The last two summers were a bit of a struggle. Mind you that has nothing to do with my dob...

That lidded box measures 65mm x 50mm diameter and is made from black bean and silver ash. It has a mother of pearl insert on the top. The thread was hand chased on a thin insert of dead finish. The top and bottom is black bean. The finish is Aussie Oil.

This simple little bowl is made from local grown camphor laurel. The local stuff generally has very little colour in it. It measures 180mm diameter x 55mm deep. The banding is my own manufacture. Finished with sanding sealer and two sprayed coats of lacquer.

A couple of great pieces there Jim, thanks for posting.
I would like to see more people posting their work on this forum. Whether it is to my taste of not I like to see what others have done and often learn something in the process,

Tony.
