43283543283243283343283413” spiral head thicknesser. Purchased at the woodwork show in September 2017 so 7 months old. Have receipt so still under Carbatec warranty. Seen minimal use, still
on original blades (haven’t been rotated either) was used whilst my jet planer thicknesser was being repaired.
Been placed on mobile stand and locking castors. Replcement $1000+ with stand and wheels.

I think this unit uses the same cutter inserts as the Hare and Forbes T13S, there's a bloke online, mjetools or something similar that sells complete sets of carbide cutters for a bit under $100. Really good value if you plan to use the thickie much.

Just interested in what type of dust extractor you used with the carbatec

At the time, I had a 1hp underbench unit I had cobbled together to make into wall unit and added a dust right 1micron bag from rockler. I was in a single car garage at the time so it needed to be wall mounted.
It took the chips away satisfactorily, but is totally inadequate for any consistent use where dust collection is important. I’ve since moved on to a clear view.
