wanted: observations & comments on an old line shaft horizontal mill

Hi all,

Forever on the sniff for the next next (next) project - I first saw this about 2 years ago and saw it again recently still sitting there. I am considering buying it. Polite ask: if you know where it is please don't shout it out here. :-)

My horizontal mill knowledge it pretty light so I am after some of your observations and comments about this unit. It has no makers mark that I could see, just a McPhersons importers badge:

Some things I do get:

* the table swivels - nice.
* the table is driven. Also nice.
* it has no motor so will need something made to run it.
* it has no arbor - I've no idea what taper or whatever suits it.

Some things I don't get:

* man that table is a long way from the spindle - can the table really go all the way up there?
* the arbor 'over arm' has two 'eyes' either side of the arbor hole - what are they for?

Please offer any comments or observations you may have - you know more than I do! :-)
