I have a lathe, it's quite big (could fit a 1.2m piece of timber) and I am wanting to know a bit more about it... I preface this by stating I am q bit of a lathe newby.
It's a CMG single phase motor with the motor plate stating;
CMG type: ZW2/60
CMG frame code: 3s56
I thought CMG was just the motor but did they make entire lathes?
It's big and heavy... Any info appreciated.

Looks like a homemade lathe to me .Lightweight construction but does look to have all the essentials to start turning and see if you catch the woodturning bug .

The double row angle iron bed is much stiffer than the Asian entry level lathes. The tool rest banjo may bend with a violent catch but is not likely to break. Nice stout headstock. I would call it a serviceable lathe. I would not be afraid of hanging the biggest hunk of timber it would hold to make a bowl. One horsepower is enough to do some work.
I like the vertical legs on the front and back ones slanting back, nice and stable and clear of your feet. I think an experienced turner made it, or had it made to his or her design. Not very pretty welding or finish but I expect strong enough.
Very good starter lathe.

Yeah it doesn't seem lightweight to me after transporting it the other day with two other guys. Has to be well in excess of 120kg.

I have to agree,
a. Looks lightweight, my lathe is 450 kg, my last one was a durden at 360kg
b. Looks homemade, also lightweight in design
c. Tool rest looks flimsy
d. Exposed pulleys and belts.
Suggest you check the alignment of the tail and headstock
