Just completed a large End grain (chequer board) Jarrah chopping board and have a couple of "natural features" in timber which would require filling with a filler so as not to become small reservoirs for spilt foodstuffs/animal fats etc.
Any recommendations for such a filler? I am using "Organoils Food wipe" oil to finish chopping board.
Regards Sandman.

Timbermate wood filler. Water based. Though may not stand up well to knife edges.

Otherwise tinted epoxy.

Timbermate will take the edge off your knife straight away. I have used it on a bowl and it dulled the gouge immediately.Would Araldite be OK?

Once cured araldite is non toxic.
or
Melt some shellac into it, Shellac is a food additive as well as a woodies finish.

That's because it is clay or silica based. :)
