First time I have used pine in a very long time ... needed to use it to match client's other bedroom pieces.
What an absolute joy to use this timber ..... so very easy to cut mortices in one pass ... planes smooth in seconds ... sands easily.
The down side is how very easily it bruises and dents at the slightest knock (thankfully I have a steam iron in the workshop)
Here is the finished product 850L X 560H X 580W
The infill panels are 6mm marine ply ... timbers are 19mm select pine generally cut to 90mm width.
Finished in rub on satin poly
447991
I used a middle rail to add strength to the top
447992
I used a 5mm wide band on the sides to hide the end grain on the rails
447990
Total cost of project $122
Regards
Rob
