G'day all

We are making a few large solid Vic Ash kitchen benchtops for a customer.
We will be using ~150mm wide timber strips, without end joins, except for the mitres.

The client wants a clear satin finish.
So, I'm looking for recommendations for a spray-on clear coat. I'll be using a 2.0mm tip.
My first thought was 3 spray-on coats of oil based Carbothane clear, as I've used it a few times for my own benchtops.

But, is there a better product that I should consider?
Please give me the benefit of your experience.

There is a bit of $ margin in the job, so a premium priced product may possible.

Thanks
Graham

We went with Osmo Polyx Satin.
Using a 5mm nap microfibre roller.

That's my finish of choice too. Those benchtops have come up a treat :2tsup:

I started out applying the stuff rubbed in with a white abrasive pad (per Osmo instructions), but get just as good results (applied sparingly) using a microfibre roller as you have done. A very hard wearing finish once it has completely gone off.
