Hey All...
I'm buying a TAIG Micro Lathe for a micro pin grinding project with the 5C Headstock. I'll be importing this mini machine from the US, but Taig do not supply a 240V motor for it.
I know that some people are using the Sherline variable speed motor set up, and in fact I have already spoken to Sherline in the US and they have indicted that this is not problem, but I was wondering has anyone else bought a Taig Micro lathe and adapted a motor here in Australia? Ideally I would like something with a little bit more power and torque then the Sherline option so that I could turn small Stainless and Titanium pieces on it. And if possible variable speed.
Any advise would be really appreciated - and before anyone says go buy a "real lathe" (which I probably will one day), I'm buying this due to current constraints in my workshop.
Cheers
