I finally got around to putting the finish on the SIL's 60th birthday present. On 2nd coat I used scotchbrite pads to fine things up. 4 coats of Danish Oil in total and has a nice low sheen. I finally have steered away from gloss and now prefer the subtle shine.

SIL will be delighted. Great work and a very nice finish :2tsup:. How are the knuckles?:oo:

Thanks, the Knuckles are ok, the finger tips however copped a few hits whilst sanding but I followed some advice and lifted the rpm to around 1400 and everything went smoothly, pardon the pun.

That's a beautifully figured piece of wood and very well finished. I can see why you would be pleased with it, well done.
