Hi guys , this a red mallee burl box I made awhile ago for the AWTEX this year.....
Lid and finial made from african ebony , finish was DO
any comments and advice welcome

Smiife, you ought to be ashamed of yourself. You put up a picture of a gorgeous work of art with legs that have no explanation of what they are....... To me they look like thorns. Are they, and what tree did you get them from?

I personally think the brass knobs detract from the top. The lid and finial work real well with the rest of it. .......... Jerry (in Tucson)USA

That's a very nice bit of turning there smiife, the finish looks outstanding.

Hi Jerry , yeah , sorry about that .....:U
The legs I would describe as tusks , just carved them myself and painted
them black , the "tusks" where going to come up through the top of the burl
But that didn, t go as planned , so had to go to plan B

Or scandinavian oil also called
