Pierced and coloured bowl

This is one of those bowls that the colour is either a love it or hate it. Turned thin from Field Maple and the 6 pierced oval panels painted with iridescent paints, Measures 6" X 2 1/2". I did show the begining of the piercing HERE (http://www.woodworkforums.com/f8/vase-229336)

That’s a lovely piece of work, Dalboy. Great skill in turning something that thin, and the hole panels must have demanded great patience. Me, I love the colour.

I haven’t worked with Field Maple, but I gather it is denser than other types of maple?
