This one is 550mm, rear, completed, rested to dry a bit, hollowed rested to dry , and then finish turned. I used a recipe I got off here for the finish,, pure tung oil30%, mineral turps 30% satin poly 40%, wiped on, 2 coats 24hrbetwen

Thanks Tony,colour looks better than shown, with the open nature of the timber my usual ubeaut shellawax finish was not going to work. I may knock this back a bit with super fine steelwool.

Bloody beautiful Ian, well done and a credit to you.
Jarrah is well known for it coarse grain and natural fissures / features that add character.
Should sell well. Cheers

Jarrah burl is heaps nicer then plain dark Jarrah :2tsup:

I use Tung Oil diluted with mineral spirits, about half & half, then more TO for later coats, which makes a nice soft sheen. Many coats slowly builds to shiny.

Beautiful piece.
