I have just received a message from DaveTTC saying that he will not have a GTG at Dooen over the Australia Day weekend. So I am suggesting dinner and chat at the RSL on Monday, 20th January, 2020. 6.30pm start for dinner and then meet in the Lounge at 7.00pm.

Reply to this thread and let me know by 5.00pm Thursday 16th if you wish to join us for dinner so that I can book a table.

Merry Christmas
Bob

Beer battered fish, coming up. :yippy:

I trust you are all rested and recovered from the excesses of Christmas and New Year.
It is now the time to think of our plans for 2020 and what better place to start with than the RSL GTG in Box Hill on 20th January.

I'm thinking about attending, but this is subject to my health permitting as I'm still not yet fully recovered from my last microwave session.

I still get very tired at the end of each day so I'll make up my mind at the last moment.

When I was much, much younger (about 45 years ago) I established a very extensive home cocktail bar. It had every spirit and liqueurs you might want, mainly donated by wine merchants in relation to my then work.

At that stage I also bought a number of bottles of vintage and tawny port bottles and put them away to drink and enjoy in my old age.

But circumstances changed and ever since my liver problems I haven't touched the stuff. So over the holidays I poured most of the opened bottles of liqueurs and port down the sink, but I have a number of unopened port bottles left.

So I will give a bottle to each forum member attending, providing you're over 18 years of age, so indicate here if you're coming and if you would prefer vintage or tawny port.

So have a drink on me to celebrate the new year.

Peter, a very kind gesture.

If you are able to make it, either will do.

Thank you Peter, a great gesture. My preference is for the vintage, but either would be most appreciated.
