That particular seller is a drop shipper. They list things that they can buy at local retail stores then double the price and add the eBay, Paypal and postage costs. All their stuff is ridiculously priced, have a look at the feedback. Boofheads still buy off them though. :?

$15.40 at Total Tools.

It *always* pays to do your research - not saying that buying the cheapest is necessarily the best deal, but it avoids undue consternation when discovered post-purchase.

But do these “Drop shipper”
Not do any research,I can’t believe anyone would pay nearly $90 Au for a file.(Tho the asking and receiving could be hugely different)
Or am I living under a rock.

Cheers Matt.

Matt, people are dumb. Have a look at their feedback and do a search on things that you think might be available at Bunnings. I rest my case. :D

And it does not appear to have a handle.

I often find that there are no bargains on eBay. Many things are way over priced. Yes it always pays to research the regular retail price of an item.
And yes sometimes you can get an item cheap, or that part that you need for a repair that you just can not get in the shops.

You can buy Vallorbe at nearly half that price, and they are in a different world compared to Bahco

I'm with aldav, many's the time I've seen people go into a bidding war paying 2-3 times the current retail price for a second hand item!

You can only shake your head at the sheer stupidity of it.

But, there are some unbelievable bargains to be had too thankfully.

Same as I can’t see people stop using emojis on their keyboards instead of the forum base ones.

I'm betting that's tapatalk phone app being decidedly crap. But yeah :)

There are a few other sellers on eBay that do the same thing. 'Simplybestprices' is one and I did note another one recently, but can't remember the user name.

Totally agree that phones are crap!

:2tsup: here?

In the quick reply panel (on a PC) there's a Smiley. That has some common ones, or has a "More..." button to get the full list of them that the forum supports.

Here is a quick example of an item I am dreaming of buying.
Makita 18V 165mm Li-lon Cordless Circular Saw - Skin Only (https://www.bunnings.com.au/makita-18v-165mm-li-lon-cordless-circular-saw-skin-only_p0081206) $299 looks like the regular retail price at the tool shops.
Then eBay Makita CORDLESS CIRCULAR SAW DHS660Z 18V 165mm Blower Function, Skin Only | eBay (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Makita-CORDLESS-CIRCULAR-SAW-DHS660Z-18V-165mm-Blower-Function-Skin-Only/253993707794?epid=4026258339&hash=item3b23346912:g:IXMAAOSwG1Jb9hYQ&frcectupt=true) at $519.95 :o over $200 more and it is a special order with a wait of approximately two weeks to order and about four weeks to deliver.

It would be more economical to get a chauffeur driven vehicle to a dealer and back, and you would have the tool the same day.
No bargain on eBay here.

Sydney Tools Sydney Tools (https://sydneytools.com.au/product/makita-dhs660z-18v-li-ion-cordless-brushless-165mm-6-1-2-circular-saw-skin-only) $299
Total Tools Makita 18V 165mm Brushless Circular Saw Right-hand Blade Skin Only DHS660Z | Total Tools (https://www.totaltools.com.au/132684-makita-18v-165mm-brushless-circular-saw-right-hand-blade-skin-only-dhs660z) $299
It appears that Makita has a fixed retail price. If you can find cheaper it is a bargain. A few dollar more I could understand but $200+ is a huge mark up. Suggests they buy retail and then on sell.

The reason I am looking at this tool is the blade is on the right and it should have a dust port to attach dust extractor.

Yes, that's the same seller that Matt linked to in the first post and as has already been stated, that's exactly what they do. Am I missing something here. :?
