Hi all,

Here's another blackwood issue.

I also have a slab of blackwood that is shaped like an egg (yet about 1.5m x 2m x 100mm) which I am wanting to make a big coffe table out of. I am wanting to know how I can keep it from splitting. I've been told to bury it, put it under the house, wrap it in blankets, da da da... .Yet I'm thinking more like cutting it into 3 pieces with as narrow a blade as possible and then glueing it back together. I know that blackwood splits very easily - so how to I prevent this from happening. It's an amazing bit of wood (has 3 centres and fiddleback everywhere in it) so I don't want it to go to waste. Any ideas?

All help greatly appreciated
