I just made an online calculator to work out stud etc centres, spacings and running measurements. You enter total length, max centres, stud width and selct between studs each end, stud 1 end or no end studs. I would apreciate any feedback on if its acurate, and set up OK, or what needs to be changed or added to make it better. It lives here

Thanks for any feedback

thats a god program. Just wondering why you would need it though? Shouldn't you just place the studs at 450 or 600 centres. Surely that is a bit easier when it comes to plastering. Not having a go, just wondering

The code comes from a program that calculates piers and panels in a fence. After using it the roof calculator http://www.blocklayer.com/Roof/ that evenly spaces the rafters to the length of the ridge, I thought there might be a need for a general centres calculator, maybe for rafters, bearers, railings, or anywhere you need to evenly space anything under a maximum value for a given length. I just called them studs because I couldnt think of anything generic. I really have no idea what standard stud centres should be, so thanks for pointing that out. But hey, I'm a blocklayer, so I got a good excuse for not knowing much.
