Windows 10 (Home) 64bit

I've had more Windows crashes in the last two weeks than I have since 2003! Never ever had one until 10 days ago, now I've had two.

Anyone else?

AFAIK, the Home version hasn't had the monster update that Pro had 2-3 weeks ago.

Another symptom I've had or 4-5 days is the keyboard has been playing up mising heaps ofkeystrokes, significant ddelays before it finally catches up.

It varies for me, lately I've had several updates and been having a heap of BSODs on my low end netbook with limited memory. My desktop hasn't had any problems. Mostly the error is something like "IRQL not less or equal". I've done a memory scan and no issue found. I have a vague feeling it is associated with opening PDF files in Nitro or many tabs in firefox, possibly a problem with memory swap paging.

The crash I had tonight was just from playing music through JRiver - I was elsewhere - suddenly the music stopped. Nothing else going on, but two Firefox windows were open.

Most definitely not a software issue. Usually a device driver or hardware issue. I suspect the latter.

agreed, IRQL not less or equal is a hardware/driver problem. Needs more details to fully diagnose. If you're interested enough to dig a bit in your event logs, I'll take a bit of a peer around on your behalf. Please make sure you tell us your current Windows version (use "winver" and tell us the feature release, eg 1909, and the build eg 18xxx.xxx)

BTW, there's virtually no difference in the core code that exists in Pro vs Home. And typically the feature updates that are released are applied to both at the same time (unless you have an attached device or software component on one that is in the "exclude" list, where they protect against sending an update to a device that they know will cause an issue). There's extra stuff between Home and Pro, and that for sure can cause it's own issues, but nothing you'd expect to cause crashes like this.

I’m using Win 10 Home Ver 1909 Build 18363.900.The same build for my PC.

While I was looking for that I noticed that the Update Page says:

Windows 10, Version 2004: The Windows 10 May 2020 Update is on its way. Once it’s ready for your device, you’ll see the update available on this page.

I thought the major Pro update was some time in early June? Anyway, when the new update happens it'll be interesting to see if these crashes stop happening.

In my case I don't think it is worth the effort of trying to chase down the cause of my occasional BSODs as they mainly seem to occur during or shortly after wake from sleep when CPU, IO and network usage are all high. It's an old Lenovo Flex10 that is way out of manufacturer support and has a locked down BIOS anyway that prevents most hardware upgrades even if I found a hardware fault that wasn't part of a solder on mainboard component.

I still prefer it to a 10" tablet though.
