what size blade do you use,?
i have only done 6 boxes so far, my finishing leaves a lot to be desired also cutting.
and only use scrap stuff
which are given to me by coockatoo timbers

Bandsawn boxes are great, it is all that I am interested in, I couldn't make a jointed box or furniture! I think I used a 3/8" blade to make this box.

Finishing - it consumes about 80% of my time!!!! which is why I need all ten fingers.

Thanks for the info,
I am using 3/8 th from Henry Bros.
I will have to devote much more time to finishing.! ! ! Have used organoil, wax
and shellax, do not like the oil. stinks and does not feel right, may try Penetrol
on some burl off cuts
your box has given me an idea to turn some thing top and bottom and draws in the middle.
your work is an inspiration (web site)

Peter,
I use a 1/8 inch blade, 10tpi - its great for tight turns and gives a fine finish which reduces the amount of sanding needed.

Try Feast Watson Floorseal as a finish - it has a good proportion of Tung Oil.
Sand it on with 400, 600, 800 and 1200 wet and dry.
