.
I am trying to get a Stanley 78 rebate plane operational but it is missing a depth gauge and the screw to secure it.

The gauge is just under 50mm long - see photo.

Does anyone have a Stanley 78 depth gauge and screw they would like to sell or know where I might buy either.

Thanks

I too wanted some parts for my rebate plane and found
STANLEY | Products | HAND TOOLS | Planes | Planes | Rebate planes (https://www.stanleytools.co.uk/products/sub5/Products/HAND+TOOLS/Planes/Planes/Rebate+planes)

All the parts are available, but the cost, for me at least, was not supported by my probable use into the future...

I think I have a spare depth gauge but I doubt that I have a screw. I will check tomorrow.

If you get desperate and know a friendly metal worker these are not that hard to make.

Screw is a 3/16" Whitworth.

Tom found a fence for the 78. Thanks Tom.

Now to find a screw. BobL I tried a 3/16" W but it doesn't fit. I liked the photo of your planes.

The 78 I am trying to get functional again was made in England. I will go through my many boxes of odd screws, bolts etc again to try to find a solution.
