I put the post here as an info item you may need one day. Over a year ago I showed pics of the chewed out worm wheel. This has been a saga with quotes ranging from $1200.00 plus material to it's a difficult job with at least 4 hours set up time. From another post here I was led to Ford Mc Kernan Engineering in Euroa Victoria. A gent of my vintage said with confidence, no worries we can do that and I have the material off the shelf. To my surprise he quoted $450.00 plus GST or there abouts. Off went my gears asap. A few days later I got the call we can start straight away and including return post it will come to $500. Yes please.
3 weeks later and I'm getting worried that it was lost in the post. Yesterday I cleaned out the rubbish in the letter box and found an Aus post card. It had been there for a while. He must have come on Sunday.
The work is good and the price in line with what a special repair costs to do. The other guys are a reason why a lot of work isn't done in Aus any more.
Regards
BC
