Looking for a slab for a small vanity (800 x 600) and possibly drawer fronts too.
Would Bunya Pine be suitable?

Haven't seen it used for furniture, but I've seen it used for lining an office building and it looked quite good. Quite a pronounced grain, light brown colour.

They used timber from a couple of trees felled on the site.

I remember an article in a magazine many years ago, I think it was Australian Wood Review, Joh Bjeilke Peterson had a big Bunya Tree cut down on his property and had a large table made from it. I remember it looked pretty good.

Thanks fellas.
Out of interest I have done a fair bit more research and even though it's not really a pine it is still a conifer. Not liking glossy two pack for a finish the Bunya maybe the wrong choice, for a vanity anyway.
