Those following Fletty's adventures using the timber he got from the school tree might be interested in this. He kindly gave me some to use in a project I am building for Mrs P. and we cut it today to rough dimension using a Lennox Trimaster carbide tipped blade. The interesting part about this was the flames and sparks that were visible in the dust extraction hose at various times during the cutting, something I had never seen before. I started a cut and had to back out of it because it went off the line I wanted and during the backing out when the timber was jammed against the fence metal debris was spraying over the table from the blade. Carbide bandsaw blades are certainly tough things and it still cuts well.
