these are some pics I have taken lately with my new camera.

the dragon fly pic was taken next to the last lock on the Murray River at Goolwa and is about 40mm long, the gold colour are as taken and I have not done any photo manipulation in either photo.

Cheers Ian:)

I must get out and play with my camera more too ... but maybe when the weather improves a bit.

Not as fancy as Iains, I have the S5500, but im pretty happy with what it does. Must learn all the fancy controls one day..

Nice photos Ian
The sharpness and clarity on the dragonfly is really good. Beats the heck out of photographing the stock pages *G*

The macro shots of the insects are fantastic, and I'm going to do more with my two Pentaxes which are mainly used for grandchildren shots.

Getting technical without being the least bit picky, the picture of a "Dragon Fly" is actually a picture of a Damsel Fly. Damsel's have their wings folded when at rest, as yours does, and Dragon Fly's have theirs extended outwards. Those damsels come into my fish ponds and breed there, and we love to see them emerge on the taller plants.

I'm now trying to entice other types of damsels to join them in my ponds.:p

Iain

you like spiders look at this post :) I posted it when talking about bugs in wood and in woek shop :) The spider Pic was with a small Canon power sho a75 but was in a in a kids play toy called a Creaper Peeper. It is a jar with a looking glass in the top and bottom so you can inspect your bugs :)
