G`day guys
RE: my query on the above a few months ago ,i`ve had no luck in getting hold of any metal dust to use yet but have been experimenting with glitter and various pigments. My problem now is that i can`t seem to get the epoxy to go far enough into the cracks . When i try to scape or sand it back it nearly all pulls away, it seems to me to be to thick. Anybody know of a thin epoxy or is some other type of glue suitable?
(i`m using araldite 24 hour at the moment.)
thanks

G'day Cooky

Turf the epoxy and use clear casting resin. Available from marine and surf board supplies places. Check out the yellow pages under fibre glass, as a starting point.

The casting resin leaves the epoxy for dead. It will soak into cracks and holes you didn't even know were there. It dries glass hard, polishes brilliantly and is as clear as water.

I use Araldite M which, despite its name, is a casting resin, not a glue. It dries clear, is easily worked and may be polished to a glass-like finish. Available in Sydney from Meury Enterprises (& probably lots of other places).
