Made my own Makita Circular Saw Adapter

So a year ago I purchased a Makita tracksaw kit. It was ok but I found it under powered when cutting hardwood so I took it back and got a refund. I decided to get a much more powerful 1600w Makita Circular Saw plus had the option to mount on their Makita tracks using a guide rail adapter.

Having looked at the prices of the track and adapter I didn't think was worth the money, track is flimsy and the adapter is just a bit of plastic. So I got a $50 1200m Ozito Plunge Saw Track & made my own Adapter. All up cost me roughly $70 as opposed to nearly $200.

The Ozito Aluminium track is much more rigid and in my opinion better than the Makita track. The
Saw on the track with the adapter attached is more accurate, more powerful and has a greater depth of cut than the Makita plunge saw kit.

Good solution for you.

Slightly off topic - how did you return a saw you’d used if it wasn’t faulty? Did you buy it from Bunnings or a tool shop ? Not being a smart *rse, genuinely interested. I assume if I buy something and it’s not quite what I want I’m stuck with it.

Hi Sam, Bit of a long story but I noticed a fault with it, can't quite remember exactly what it was(can check emails if you need to know?), anyway Total Tools said to take it back and they would send it off to be fixed by Makita. A month later I hadn't heard back from them so I demanded my money back.

I purchased Makita SP6000JT Plunge track saw last week from TotalTools in Epping and have had the following problems: 1. When using the Quick stop button for the 2-3mm depth cut, it scores the wood too wide so when the final cut is made there is a ridge. 2. At the end of every cut I have made there is an indent in the top right of the wooden material. 3. I seem to get scorch marks all the time from the saw despite dialing in the highest rotor speed. I am sure there is something that needs calibrating and need advise on how to do this ASAP. photo's can be provided. Regards, Sam
