Wood Turning Classes

Hi guys, I live in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. If I wanted to learn Wood turning where is a good suggestion to start. I know VicWood can't be more than 10Km from and I have thought about finding out how much is classes are.

I know this be a hard question to answer simply but the VicMarc lathes seem really good and I think made in Australia?

Unfortunately, Vic passed away last year. He was a great teacher. I haven't bought an Australian Woodworker magazine for a while now, but there was always a list of people offering classes in the mag.
I would find it pretty hard to go past a Vicmac lathe if I was in the market.

Andrew Potocnik gives lessons - he is in the Macleod/Eltham area. Many years ago, I did a six week course with him at CAE in the city.
I think Timbecon would have his contact details if you can't find them any other way.

Very sorry to hear about Vic's passing.. But thankyou all all the advice on lathes and tutoring.

There are also woodturning clubs all over the country do a search for your nearest one.

Hi Steven, what type of wood turning did you want to start with, bowls or spindle work (pens etc).
