Hi
hoping someone can help
I'm after a bearing guide upgrade kit that EB/Matabo did for the BAS 450/500 band saws
or has anyone adapted another brand to fit ( especially the lower guide )

Cheer from the long white cloud .. rather wet at the minute

G'Day Karl,
I have the Elektra Beckum BAS 500 machine, a good bandsaw for sure; mine came out of a high school as it failed OHS with no brake! Daft if you ask me for such a good unit.

I investigated a numbers of years back with the Carter people directly, about an upgrade kit as you mentioned you're chasing; sadly NOTHING!

Has anyone installed, retrofitted a Carter Bandsaw Guides in an Elektra Beckum BAS500 (https://www.woodworkforums.com/f27/installed-retrofitted-carter-bandsaw-guides-elektra-beckum-bas500-218333)

I've just replaced the upper guide bearings, and reversed the lower guide squares.

I did a Alex Snodgrass setup on mine, made a heavier taller fence and it does me well.

PS - We stopped at Oamuru for lunch on our way from Christchurch to Dunedin in December 2019, the town was covered in smoke from the Australian bushfires.
