View Full Version : Ridiculously complex.

I bought a 7" headlight bucket a while back and an LED lens to fit it a couple of weeks ago. The lens arrived today so I put it all together - unnecessarily complex and bloody ridiculous!

The lens is sandwiched between an inner and outer ring and held together by a tab on one side and two 3mm screws and tabs on the other. This assembly is then fitted to the outer headlamp ring and held together by three more screws. Then the whole assembly is fitted to the headlamp shell which is held in place by another two screws. I won't mention the 10 screws holding the lens together.

Give me a Brit bike any day, this is just plain silly: three rings held together by five screws the another two screws to fit it to the shell. All my Brit bike lenses were held in place by four spring clamps and the whole assembly held in the shell by one screw.

Now Brit twins were known shakers but never did I lose a headlight. What are the chances of at least one of these seven screws coming adrift on a Japanese shaker. Pretty good I'd say!
