35 years ago doing an 'illegal' tour of USA having friends who knew people, I was taken up the mountains of Kentucky, it was seriously a time warp then, 1 little settlement (I was told about) still had no electricity and that was the way they wanted it.
They were not part of any nutter group, just enjoyed the simple life.

If you are in Melbourne, you are welcome to attend the Steamfest at Melbourne Steam Traction Engine Club, March 12 - 14.
Scoresby Steamfest (https://www.melbournesteam.com.au/steamfest.html)

One of the planed demonstrations is saw milling with steam.

The museum is also open Saturdays and Sundays 11 - 4, but the engines may not be in operation.

Handyjack please no offence to you or your club I would love to see that, but I visited Melbourne 20 years ago....granted it was winter (Vic winter lasts 10 months correct?) but what a miserable time I had.

will your club be doing any zoom or youtubing etc .

Tony, I used to live about 20min from their current site and similar from their previous site as well. I used to attend that weekend quite regularly, but are not really good with temps above about 32C. I probably skipped about twice as many due to high temperatures than I did due to rain/wind/storms etc. That weekend in one of the better weekends for tolerable and predictable weather around Melb.
